Tooth Extraction

Teeth may need extractions for a number of reasons. They can be extremely decayed or broken down so much, that they cannot be restored. Sometimes, with advanced periodontal disease, teeth loose so much bone support, they become loose and infected, and also need to be removed. Some teeth are removed due to their poor position in the mouth, in order to improve cosmetic appearance or in preparation for orthodontic treatment.

The removal of a single tooth, without replacing it, can potentially lead to problems with chewing, adjacent teeth shifting or jaw joint problems. Dr. Rosenson always discuss procedure and all the alternatives with patients to minimize anxiety and discomfort sometimes associated with the procedure. All teeth removal are performed under appropriate anesthesia to maximize patient comfort. After the procedure patients are advised to rest and take all prescribed medication. Sometimes, bone bone grafting or dental implants can be placed at the same time of the extraction, if needed. These options can be discussed with Dr Rosenson. Once tooth is removed, the gum may require sutures in some cases. In case of multiple teeth removal, immediate temporary teeth replacement can be provided for better esthetic and function.

Upon completion of the procedure, patients are provided with post operative instructions, prescriptions for pain medication and antibiotics, if nesessary. All our services are provided in safe and sterile invironment, utilizing all the up to date equipment.
